The Future of Journalism

Friends, we talked with Columbia Professor, Todd Gitlin this week about the state of journalism and how we can empower more truth speech in America. It’s on the Inclusionism podcast before it hits WHCR 90.3 FM radio tomorrow.

We will be furthering this series in the next few weeks to explore more journalism professor’s POV on what the future of journalism can be. The most interesting part of this conversation for me was Professor Gitlin’s response to journalists rejecting the idea of government support of the field. It made me think of the freedom ethos of America and how it can be empowering to the individual psyche, and stifling for the ability to produce really big projects that we need to do as a community of actors in order to protect the integrity of our democracy.
