This week I sat down with Dr. Benjamin Hett of CUNY Graduate Center and author of The Death of Democracy to talk about the parallels between the 1920 Germany (Weimar Republic) and the 2020s America. Hett elaborates on how a democracy at the top of it’s game can tumble into an oppressive dictatorship.

We also talk in more detail about if this failure was a crisis of leadership or governmental infrastructure, and what types of leadership that we require in the United States to stay vigilant against actos that would seek to stifle both our individual and communal freedoms.
