Corey Ortega for NY City Council

This Sunday at 5:30 we had Corey Ortega on my radio show Inclusionism @ WHCR 90.3FM and he really blew us away with some origin stories… one in particular about his working in constituent services for a former NY Assemblymember and helping a community member get out of a drug deal gone wrong.
Given this pandemic, we need leaders who will not only represent us ideologically but can get things done. Corey has worked in government at the city and state levels and organized the elect members themselves as Executive Director of the Black Latino & Asian Caucus. He is currently an elected District Leader in the 70th Assembly District and founded the West Harlem Progressive Democrats, and most recently founded the COVID Coalition to get food and resources to thousands of NYers who are sick and shut-in during these trying months.
I know all of the candidates in this race and Corey is the most qualified from an operational and cultural standpoint. He feels like the melting pot that is West Harlem. I’m personally endorsing Corey for NY City Council in District 7 which is West Harlem, Upper West Side, and Washington Heights because he does the work. He’s in this neighborhood and dealing with every type of constituency. I think that his work represents everything that I talk about in Inclusionism. Representation truly matters and he serves as a bridge between the Black, Educated, Dominican, Renter, Hispanic, Underbanked, East Asian, Poor, Affluent, Prison Pipelined, White, Christian, West African, LGBTQ, Jewish, Non-Voter, Muslim, Small Business, Hindu, Youth, and other communities that we have to see wholly.
